I smell kerosene my dear,
Have you been burning bridges?
Have you been digging ditches
yanking hatchets, pulling rank?
You've got scratches, burns and stitches
but no enemies to thank
for all these riches.
Because bitcheen -
you've quite outbitched the bitches
And it's your once-friends
upon the other bank.
Have you been burning bridges?
Have you been digging ditches
yanking hatchets, pulling rank?
You've got scratches, burns and stitches
but no enemies to thank
for all these riches.
Because bitcheen -
you've quite outbitched the bitches
And it's your once-friends
upon the other bank.

worth the wait.
ReplyDeleteExcellent work and Art. I also write microfiction :) I hope you post more often.
ReplyDeleteLoved this!
ReplyDeleteThe sense of rhythm in the first half of this piece is incredible, pulls you along effortlessly. It is because this is so good that I feel like you should know that the second half isn't on the same level yet, and it drags the piece down. To me, this is the perfect version of this poem:

My sort of motivational poster.
